Regression introduced with 5aec8282cb (brain fart).
The abortRequest function changes everytime, thus the useEffect was triggered on every render...

e707e7b7da Handle track search error 
Apollo fails to handle changes in the options context (e.g. abort controller) which causes the request to infinitely re-trigger on errors.

By not adding an abort controller, this gets prevented, however, it prevents the search to be aborted on e.g. changing the search string

5a46f1fdef Remove manual preloading of single/double mode images 
With the changes from 83ce1caee6 all pages are rendered and therefore also loaded

In case of the double page mode this caused the spread page detection to be delayed due to the manual preloaded images being at the end of the image queue and thus, causing the image to be already rendered while being unable to detect the spread status of the image
